OK, I'll bite. What did he/she do? Not that I am aware of any corruption in your little town.

I just logged onto Fox News and read the article. Well, just like the Attorney General said......Time to move on.
I'm sorry, you're in a prominent position of power and the thought you can beat the system even enters your head, you ain't right.

Unfortunately it isn't an uncommon thing, remember the crack head mayor in DC?
Locally we had a constable [that I voted for 2-3 times] that got arrested for stealing $30k from an elderly MH park owner

nothing new about corrupt politicians its been going on as long as there have been politicians

This arose as a quotation by John Emerich Edward Dalberg Acton, first Baron Acton (18341902). The historian and moralist, who was otherwise known simply as Lord Acton, expressed this opinion in a letter to Bishop Mandell Creighton in 1887:
"Power tends to corrupt, and absolute power corrupts absolutely. Great men are almost always bad men."

While I wholeheartedly agree with Lord Acton's first sentence, the second one is sadly incorrect. Great men overcome corruption and become greater. Corrupt men only corrupt themselves more with power.
Likewise we had a local sheriff whose chief investigator was involved in a drive by type shooting, accepted the gun from the investigator to hide for him, and is going to spend his last years in prison. Friendship has nothing to do with business or politics. You have a responsibility. Take it seriously.

Don't forget that the good folks of DC put that gentleman
back as Mayor as soon as he was released from prison.
The Mayor of Detriot gave a long speech after his trials--
he sounds like a guy that's running for office to me............
In this day & age it is very unusual for a Mayor of Detriot to
go to jail--usually they go on to become a Governor or even
the President.........................

His last comment prior to incarceration was about running for office again once he gets out....I even heard that one! What about Ray Nagin. Fiddled while New Orleans drowned, and they elected him overwhelmingly on the next go around. Even after he and his henchmen left them defenseless, stole their guns, and abused some of them, then left town. WHAT?!

Elliot Spitzer, the NY governor, resigned earlier this year. He was a former state Attorney General who had a no-nonsense approach to cleaning up vice and prostitution rings. He resigned because he got caught with a prostitute.

Not just any 2-bit hooker ... this guy was spending $4,000 a night of ... taxpayer's money? We'll never know.
