Not as many beggers

We only had 70 kids begging yesterday ( half the usual amount)
I guess the others were too busy--working in the stores
or robbing them...........................

We only got 1.... but he was the most important one, our 8 yr old grandson

But we do live off of the beaten path, in fact some of the more timid people we know would rather take a beating than have to go up our path

Hmmm we had maybe 50 or so, gave who we thought was the last kid all the rest of the stuff we had, cause we were heading out to dinner. Saw 10 or more on their way up the street...SORRY!

Last year we had maybe 20. Neighbors said they all go to the more expensive newer neighborhoods. Not this year I guess. Maybe those houses have all been foreclosed?

Did ya see the story on the ex-con druggie who fired 30 rounds through the door and killed the 12y/o? Makes me sick...seriously...physically ill.

There is a neighborhood in the town where I live, On Oct. 31, It turns in to it's own little candy town. There will be 2 or 3 hundred, (yes hundred) kids and so called grown ups, {yes I am one of them} going from house to house. After about two blocks, it's time to go home. It is kinda fun though..

The kids cant carry the candy bucket any more.

I just thought I would share that with yall...Kinda pointless, but, there ya go....lol

Over 4 hours we had two kids together, a single, then 2 more kids together.

Hate to dwell onthe "good old days" but when I went out there were hundreds! We used to weigh our sacks by the pound. When my kids were little, we had hundreds.

Now we get 5? What the heck?

I think a lot of folks are just leery of sending their kids to stranger's homes for candy.

What has really gotten popular around here is the 'trunk or treat' It's mostly done by churches - they fill their parking lot up with decorations and trunks full of candy and other goodies. Then the children file in and fill up their sacks

Just my observation of 'maybe why'

We don't get many usually a half dozen or so. Like Mark, we're kinda' out of the way. I have no problem with it though and actually wish we had more because I end up eating all the left over candy - something I don't need.
