Thumbs up Anyone Notice The Renewal Cards......

I hate those things, especially when I renew 4 years at a time.

Just read my Sports Illustrated, not a one; Newsweek, not one there either.

Good riddance, just seemed like a waste of paper to me and now less junk on my floor.

Never made sense to me to get a subscription card inside a magazine for a magazine I already subscribed to. I used to pull them all out and send them back in the postage paid envelope they furnished with their renewal notice.

I can kinda see the point on some of them, like Reason magazine. I got a letter from them asking for financial support due to the fact costs are rising. It is a political magazine for people who want a drastically smaller government like Libertarians and probably not sold in stores. At least I ahve never seen it being sold anywhere.

I've seen Reason on the shelves in a Barnes & Noble store.

Ever read it? The Brickbats are hilarious. The ways government oversteps itself never ceases to amaze me.

I subscribed to Reason for several years, had to cut back on my subscriptions after I retired. I was also a dues-paying, card-carrying member of the LPUS for about 17 years. I quit when a certain faction that was more interested in purity than winning elections came to power. I'm pretty much apolitical these days.

I got published in that magazine. (Their opinions page, or whatever they call it. I have the issue saved somewhere around the house.)

Sure is strange to see a magazine with very little outside advertising, isn't it?
