Destroyed my door hinge jig

Note to self:

Install correct router bit before using brand new door hinge jig

PORTER-CABLE at Lowe's: Door Hinge Template

$27 down the drain.

Used a straight bit instead of a bit with the bearing doohicky. The thing was, the kit came with the correct bit, but wanted to use a Bosch bit instead.....

The ones I use from Sears use a router guide bushing that fits to the router and a standard " straight bit. Not as fancy as the one you got though.

Gosh I was so upset. I got shards of black plastic all over the room now. Luckily I was wearing my safety glasses.

I had a bit loosen up and plow into the metal guide bushing and the metal template. Got to say though it sure beats how I was taught to mortise hinges.
