Veterans Day

Today is Veterans Day. For many of you that just means another day to go about your daily routine.

Well, while youíre:

At work.
In the grocery store.
At the shopping mall.
In the dentists chair.
Taking the kids to hockey.
Having your hair done.
Getting a tattoo.
At the auto mechanic.
Cooking dinner in the kitchen.
Raking the leaves in the front yard.
Painting the garage door.
Doing the laundry
Walking the dog

You should stop and think about:

How difficult it is (in the course of your hectic and routine day), for everyone to come together at dinner time and eat as a family.

Note that today is different though
Itís Veterans Day
Make every attempt possible to sit down as a family and have dinner

and

before you start eating, have the youngest at the table say this prayer.

Dear Lord,
Today we honor our veterans,
worthy men and women
who gave their best
when they were called upon
to serve and protect their country.
We pray that you will bless them, Lord,
for their unselfish service
in the continual struggle
to preserve our freedoms, our safety,
and our countryís heritage, for all of us.
Bless them abundantly
for the hardships they faced,
for the sacrifices they made
for their many different contributions
to Americaís victories
over tyranny and oppression.
We respect them, we thank them,
we honor them, we are proud of them,
and we pray that you will watch over
these special people
and bless them with peace and happiness.
In Jesusí name we pray; Amen.
