Our own worst enemy?

Remeber the snail darter? Now it's the sand lizard.

I know that the oil guys are probably exaggerating the impact, but if this goes forward there will be an impact.

yeah, saw that. pretty crazy, uh.

i am not a tree hugger. though i do love animals and nature. but these "green freaks" are LITERALLY try to sabotage this country. traitors are what they are. they would rather see a family living under a bridge, just to save a few acres for a bug. when that bug can easily move over a few acres and live happily.

i just don't get it.

well, yes i do. that is how those green freaks make their living.

It is a complex issue but I'm pretty sure that no one wants to hear (read) my thoughts on the matter.

When a neighboring county decided to widen a main road out of town, of course they had to upgrade the creek bridge. They came in droves with their attorneys, filing injunctions, lawsuits, whatever they could to protect the Bog Turtle. Study after study, money after money it was finally determined there were no Bog Turtles in the creek to begin with The groups moved on with their attorneys to some other unsuspecting location where they will create havoc again, I guess.
Signs were erected at each end of the bridge indicating "No Bog Turtles Found".
I could have used some of that money!!!

you, sir, are wrong. i would like to hear (read) what you think of this issue.
but please, be brief.

myself. the green freaks do have a point. we do not want to exterminate something that could possible provide a cure to something. or just lay waist for no need.
but some of those people are extremist . and too much of anything is not a good thing.

there needs to be a balance.

Sad part of the whole thing (aside from all the useless time and money spent) was the highway was unusable for over 2 years !! It was a 3 month project.
