9/11 Memorial

We visited the 9/11 Memorial this weekend. My third visit and the first time that we were allowed inside the grounds. I left just as sad and angry as I was the first time I visited 9 years ago.

It was nice to see that there are still thousands of people lining up every day. There has been much progress with the pools operational and the Freedom Tower nearing completion. The Memorial Museum is slated to open next year.

We also happened to pass by the Occupy Wall St encampment. Unfortunately, we were downwind. It was much smaller, smellier and messier than I expected.

Saw a special on the construction of the Memorial not long ago and was pretty impressed.

I think I am going to hold off until the museum opens and the initial crowds die down to go check it out. Though I expect it to draw a ton of people for many years to come. It looks beautiful on TV.
