Snow

Does anyone have any snow on the ground? Here it is two weeks till Christmas and I still have grass sticking up through a few flakes.

Forecast for Sunday is sunny and in the 40's so that may be gone too. I may have to cut grass again.

After last year's white Christmas (first since 1800), and the ensuing 4 days of the "S" word, we try to keep it quiet. What will happen is, we will go to Denver to visit the grandkids toward the end of the year. THAT is when it will "S" here. Our dog sitter will provide us with pix.

We had several days of rain last week that ended in snow. We had about 1/2" on the ground by sundown but the snow must of turned back to rain during the night since there was very little snow left by the next morning. One of the things I like about living in east tenn is we get enough snow to enjoy the scenery but it seldom sticks around long enough to get tiresome

I am roughly the same location as Baldwin and most of the snow we had is gone. Good side is the geese are still hanging around.

Think snow!!!!!

We don't get too much snow here in NJ. We did catch that blizzard Chandler had the day after xmas. I think we are finally into the cold weather for winter. It got down to the mid 20's last night. It just doesn't get as cold as it used to anymore.

We had a couple of inches (winter storm Alfred) a few weeks ago but it didn't last. Up until this week temps have been in the 60's, nearly 20* above normal.
What we have had is rain and more rain. We set an all time record (300+ years) for rainfall this year. Thank God it wasn't snow. The rain stopped 3-4 days ago and my sump pumps are still cycling every couple of minutes.

We give our old coats and jackets to a charity for those in need of them in winter. I'm saving a couple for that day when Sarasota freezes over . Just PM me, TG. Price will be fair

My "guys" don't but the NWS does. I think they started naming winter storms a few years ago.

That's the first I've heard of it. I've never seen a named storm come through here unless it was tropical.

No snow means no snow shovelling - I'm fine with that.

I think you are right. They ain't my guys, but it appears that it is thel weather guessers on a couple of the local TV stations that have been naming the storms for the last few years.

I have had to get my snow brush out once, to clean the car, and if I didn't have to leave so early, it my have melted. No shovel yet, I haven't seen this since 79. It was in the 80's Christmas day, and even hotter in the house with the oven on for six hours.

So far winter is nice. I have used very little wood, and no fuel. I have may be 3 more months of so called winter to go. It has been so warm, I see the price of fuel oil has dropped.

I am starting to think, it isn't going to snow. I spent $50 on a belt, tune up and oil change. So now that I am ready, I am not going to use it.

My daughter and her husband bought a brand new snowblower and they have nothing but grass down in North Branch, MN.

Not much up here either, the grass is still sticking up through the little snow we have.

The only thing my grass is sticking up through is frost when we get it. It is 40 and raining, and no snow in the five day forecast here. No snow for Christmas, and no skiing either, it hasn't been cold enough to make snow.

It's 11 AM on the 22nd of December. I am working outside in a short sleeve shirt in 53* sunshine.

If this is global warming - bring it on.

This weather is so screwed up, I see my Tulips are starting to come up. How do I stop that from happening.

Not to warm here, but absolutely no snow, blue sky and no clouds (clear, sunny and cool).

It is a strange weather situation because without snow, the sun warms to ground and warm air rises high and creates a high pressure bubble. This prevents the moisture from the south from coming in and feeding the possibility of snow. This what forced the snows in the southern Midwest and across to the east coast. No possibility of snow here until after New Years. - Too bad for the restaurants, bars and resorts out of town, but sure makes driving nice, but not really fun.

We want some snow.
