Can't wait

.....and the cheating has already started. NASCAR's confiscated some body parts off of 5 time's 48 car. Wonder if Chad Knaus will miss another Daytona 500?

Now that was interesting. I'm glad the did something about 2 cars pushing all the way around the track. Should be a good race next weekend.

I don't know where/when it started, DW seems to get the credit for it but Ray Stevens had it in a song 25 yrs earlier.

Anyone know if there were any cars at the end of the race that didn't have damage?

Well....I hate to say it. Wifey got bored 2/3 of the way through...so she went to the office. Since I had the couch to myself...I leaned over a little bit.....then a bit more.....then... I woke up about 10:15 and went to bed.

Probably better anyway...I would have been so POd at the finish.....

Ah well.....prob watch it online later.

Ok...watched the end...darned good! I just hate KB...maybe he'll be a bit more mature this year since they smacked him down. He's a great driver...don't think I've ever seen anyone recover from those 2 spins like he did.

Would have loved to see Tony or Marcus take it though....

Oh...anyone else think Carl Edwards will be a commentator in a few years when he decides to retire? Never seen anyone as comfortable in front of the camera as he is.

I'm a kyle fan not so much when he's out of the car but the kid can really drive! I used to like to watch Tim Richmond drive and KB reminds me of him behind the wheel. Even with all his faults, Kyle is a better person than TR ever thought about being...... now if he can only get his temper on a short leash.

Good race although I didn't care to see the 24 on his roof. I guess I started watching NASCAR when he was coming up so he's my guy.

Hope you guys had two TVs on. If not, you missed some terrific golf on CBS.

NASCAR, golf and soon baseball.....summer is coming.

Wow

I'm not sure if I've ever seen a car hit the wall that hard and the young lady gets out and walks away like she ran over a squirrel.

Looked to me like that safer barrier moved a couple feet and bounced back. One more race to see who survives.

Should be an interesting weekend, if they have any cars left.

As usual, Mikey messed up again. What a putz.

Ya, between all the safety features incorporated in the new car and the safer barrier - racing is a lot safer

Bet she'll be sore in the morning though.

Yeah...a night race will prob be a pain for the TV crews (though I've seen some where it looked like daylight). Looking at the weather I find it hard to believe they'll get it done. Doesn't look like it really clears til Tues or maybe real late tonite.

Luckily for me that's actually 5PM....if it came on at 7 local, I doubt I'd see the end.

Ya, back when I worked every day I didn't care much for the night races. I'd enjoy the entire race right up to the last commercial before the end..... I'd have to buy a paper on the way to work to find out who won.

For the most part the delay shouldn't be too hard on the crews [tv and nascar] although they might be running short on clean clothes The only ones it really affects is the fans that couldn't stay and get a value for their tickets and the truck drivers that have to transport the cars and equipment.

I never saw anything like it! What amazes me is that they were able to resume the race. You'd think that much fire would have melted the asphalt making it impossible to restart the race.
