Repipe 1950's home.

So the homes in my development are 1950's. All on well. I did a small re-pipe for the neighbor today and I just had to show the pipe I pulled out of the crawl.

I did this today and you can see the many casts my fine neighbor put on the pipe to stop the leaks. This was over 30 years.

Yes PH is an issue but a lot of pipe back them was M and not L copper. This was all main and bath proximity piping.

Note: I think the dead men were drunk back then with how they ran pipe.

Were you able to retrofit it with Pex or did you have to go back with copper due to code?? It is amazing what people will do to "crutch" something thinking it will automatically turn into a permanent fix

I did it in copper Larry. He had new copper sitting in the crawl that he bought years ago, so we used it.
