Nightmares

I have been awakened by nightmares as a child, but never have I been awakened TO a nightmare. PT Barnum said it best "there's a fool born every minute".

It is what it is. Ya gotta' just suck it up for another 4 years and hope there's enough left for a recovery.

Just to be different I'll point out that Barnum never actually said that. : )

Actally "there's a sucker born every minute", and Barnum didn't deny saying it, but probably didn't say it according to what I have read. Thanks Croc for the heads up.

OK who said - No fair peeking

Winning isn't everything, it's the only thing.

Show me the money!

I really didn't say everything I said.

Golf is a good walk spoiled.

#1 Vince Lombardi ( A tie is as exciting as kissing your sister) #3 sounds like Bill Clinton or Yogi #4 Mark Twain??

Winning....gotta be Lombardi.

Show me the money? Well...in recent years it would be Tom Cruise or Cuba Gooding.

Everything I said? Yogi

Golf.....hmmm.......I'd think one of the old time players...like Hagen, Jones, Nelson, or Hogan?

"Winning . . . . ." is usually attributed to Lombardi but it wasn't him. First recorded use was from UCLA coach Red Sanders in 1950.

Show me the money was the big line in the movie - but it had been around for many years. First known use by heavyweight "Battling" Nelson when asked if he would fight Tommy Burns in 1907

"Everything I said . . . " is correctly attibuted to Berra along with a hundred more funny quotes.

Golf is . . . . " has long been attributed to Mark Twain but he didn't coin the phrase. It's unlikely he ever said it. It first appeared in 1903 in a book about lawn tennis.

Before I found a site called "quote investigator" a couple of months ago I would have picked Lombardi, Gooding, Berra and Twain
