Squirrel carrying squirrel

This morning, I saw a squirrel carrying another squirrel in it's mouth!
They looked about the same size, and the one being carried didn't seem to be moving, but not sure if it was dead or not.
It carried it across the street, along the side of my house, and off to the back.

I've never seen this before. Strange. Has anyone else? Was it taking it somewhere to eat it?

That is absolutely bizarre and I've never heard nor seen anything like that in my life.

If it was a red squirrel, I could imagine it. They're small, but feisty!

When my dogs chase them off the fence in our yard, they turn around and scream at the dogs angrily!

Could be a repercussion of a health care situation with 26 year olds still being on parent's insurance. I didn't say that

Not sure if you were just jesting or not Ray but at least according to one nature and wild life forum I found squirrels will eat other squirrels. The reason why they are usually carrying around another squirrel. I have actually never heard of this phenomenon before but apparently it is true. I guess it is just natures way of making the species stronger but it is kind of creepy. Especially when we think of squirrels as just being vegetarians. Well they are after all rodents and rats eat about anything too.
