Weekend weather

All you folks in the Midwest got your winter supplies laid in? Looks like you'll need it the next week or so.

Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

I was hoping to paint the trim on my garage and cut the grass one more time, looks like the window of opportunity done slud shut on me.

Weather channel this morning said they could have some interesting driving around Dallas today. HATE ice.

That's just cruel sir. Ha. We got close to a foot of snow here over the weekend with temps around -6C, white out driving conditions to the point they shut down the highways in and out of town.

Thus, I hacked up a cord of firewood this morning!

Knew it was getting frigid up there when we started seeing lots of Canadian license tags. Big snowbird population in this area from north of the border.

Our friends to the north might not agree but I thought yesterday was mighty cold - it struggled to get above freezing

I just hope the weather cooperates for Thursday, some of our kids get nervous if there is any snow/ice on my driveway

It's too cold, right during crunch time of Christmas. My fingers are sticking to my ladder and extension cords are dowel rods...

And my fryer was a brick Sunday morning...

100% chance of rain tomorrow with temps hovering about 42f then dropping to 20f at night. Wednesday, "S". Not a nice word around here.

Here is a new record set...

. Record low temperature set this morning at Philadelphia,
Pennsylvania...

The temperature so far early this morning dropped to 20 degrees at
the Philadelphia International Airport. This set a new record low
for this date, breaking the previous record of 21 degrees which was
set back in 1965.

Geez 47 yrs ago when I was born... Must of been global warming back then too....

Hey Al gore is this caused by global warming?

Winter in MSP(MN) has been nice so far -

Two snows for a total of 1.1" against an average of 6". Ground is bare and brown.

Fortunately, we are getting into the period where the cold weather from the north keeps the moisture out and temperatures can go up somewhat because of the clear skies. Hit 38F today with some clouds and above 32F predicted for the rest of the week (lows around 20F). The nasty weather and storms are to the south. Every body is hoping for a predicted blizzard, so the can go to neighborhood "blizzard parties". The snowmobilers are itching to get on long runs, skipping across and between the lakes.

We all know we will get some good snow sooner of later (annual average is about 45" total), but we have a brown Christmas 1/4 to 1/3 of the years.

Well, the snow is here We got up early this morning and took my wife's car down to the bottom in case she needs it before the snow melts. I cleaned an 1"+ of snow off of her car and proceeded down the driveway. Had a very hard time seeing - I forgot to remove the snow from the headlights!

Just looked at the weather map for the Northeast. Ewwww! And read in the paper this morning that the balloons might be grounded for the Macy's.

Larry, our prediction for T-Day is also for "s"; but probably not the same thing. Going to be a bit chilly, tho; high of only 68F.

In MSP(MN), it is 11F this morning with zero wind and no clouds. Will hit 28F with no clouds and little wind. No snow on the ground.

No precipitation here until late Monday, so the snowmobilers are upset and the resorts/bars up north are crying about the lack of snow which is necessary for recreation, business and the economy. Skiing is OK since it is cold enough to make and work the snow. Night skiing is doing well near MSP.

The ice is there on most water, but not safe for too many people and no cars for a few weeks or a month. I did see some guys out on a local lake fishing (panfishing). They used a flat bottom bottom scowl and propelled it with ski poles and paddles and chopped chop holes with an ice spud (long chisel). They just dragged out the early spring gear for use until the ice is safer.

I am trading moderately sane low temperatures of 42, 36, 33, and 32 this coming weekend for -3, 0, 6, and 8, when I go to Denver for a few days. Definitely not fishin' weather Only been colder once in my life....winter of '93 in Chicago.

If it wasn't for family - I'd suggest postponing your trip until warmer weather . so all I can say is DRESS WARM!!

I remember a winter night up north back in the early 70's where the wind chill got down to 60 below It was way too cold inside with the furnace running full blast I'm glad I moved south

Sure would be nice if we could get above zero during the day, even if only for an hour.

Ha....we've had a few already where it was -25 to -33 and that is not wind chill but actual....just nuts for the first half of December. I hate to think of what January and February will bring.

Go ahead, rub it in.

You gotta bring your wrecker up north, you'd make a fortune.

Wow. Can you say "driving too fast for conditions"???

I actually know right where that is, and no, I do not want to go there.
