Today's post link now longer an option.

Just today, the log in option is missing and the link to today's posts is missing. Is it a issue on my end or is something going on in the forums?

Today's Posts is missing on my end as well. Really irritating as I always used that link without first logging in. New Posts only works if first logged in.

I really don't like the silly way the Reply button sometimes just takes me to the Quick Reply pane instead of the REAL reply pane.

Not ALL upgrades are an improvement.

I don't like the way you log in either and prefer the old way but I have definitely seen worse than what changes are here. One forum I went to was closed to everyone for at least 6 months and that was on the This Old House website. So the alternative could be worse.

The moderators and admins are aware of the problem(s).

Furd, the yellow "Reply to Thread" buttons at top and bottom will take you to the full reply box. As far back as I remember, the quick reply below the actual post has always gone to quick reply?

Go to NOTIFICATIONS> Quick Links> Today's posts. All changes take some getting used to. We may have liked it better the old way, but hey... some of us probably used to like Windows 95 just fine.

Depending on your screen resolution, the Notifications link may be off to the upper right corner of your screen.

I don't have anything like Quick Links under that, X. I just have Inbox with a number or no new messages box, which is what Notifications are.

I'm sure this is just a bug in what was probably supposed to be a minor update. Similar has happened before.

Like I said....it's a glitch. Menu's should be basically the same across all pages. Mine sure aren't.

Yeah they are different depending on what page you're on. I see there's a Quick Links menu option at the top of this page that has the "today's posts" inside it. I'm another one that usually clicks on that when I have been away and want to see what's new.

Well it just came back up for me, what a mess. Larry, ignore my email. How about some warning when upgrades are coming so we will know whether our pc that is in trouble, the system is in trouble, or the upgrades are just not working.

LOL, this just has to be work in progress. I can find no sign-off option, but once I closed the link and came back a few minutes later I was signed off. But there was again no sign-in. To find a sign-in I have to open a thread and then the option appears, although no in the upper right corner where it used to be. Just updating.

Bud, just found out myself (thanks, Vic!) the new login/off is the little yellow silhouette at the very top right.

Maybe off subject, but I noticed many above are logging in.
I don't log out, just close browser. Is this OK?
If my browser is closed, will I show up as off line?

I don't log out either. Some prefer it, but not necessary. You'll show up as offline once the site refreshes itself, even if you don't log out.

Brian, I never log in/out on my desktop - it's done automatically when I come to the forums or close the browser. I do log in when using my laptop, sometimes I'll log out and other times just close the browser which does the same thing.
