Ya, I read that last week. I believe the owner of the lot has the builder over a barrel!

Couldn't it be moved that short a distance?

We had that once years ago in NJ. The lot owner lived next door and watched them build the entire house. When completed he said thank you and told them to get lost. I don't recall the outcome, but sure would ruin a contractors day.

I have also read of demotion companies that demoed the wrong house. Now that must be a shock to come home to.

Most houses in fla are built on a concrete slab and while they can still be moved - it complicates the job, not to mention it ain't no little house.

Yeah, 3 story on a slab and possibly pilings due to location. I hope they publish the outcome, but the guy who owns the lot has to be salivating.

If the lot owner were "Minnesota Nice" he'd just trade lots and call it done. Geezz, they're right next to each other.

Oh seriously? Nice? Let's see, IIRC the person who had the house built owns 19 lots and this was a "vacation home". Odds are the actual lot owner has a few extras of their own? Can you spell big money?

They'll do a nod and a wink and stick whatever they agree on for compensation to the builder. Hope he has insurance for this.

Odd that not a single inspector/realtor ever caught this.

Isn't that what I said? Seems to me anyone to build in that 'gated community' has a few bucks in the mattress.

Pretty much Baldwin, except you didn't mention the GC would be the one who pays in the end.

I dunno about the rich, but I think I would have been following up a little bit on my almost 3/4 mil house?

If they can't agree on a compromise a court will do it for them.

I noticed something else about this story that I didn't hear about before the name of the town, Hammock I bet someone was half asleep when they put the property markers down. Either that or they fell out of their Hammock and were dazed and confused. Lol I just couldn't resist that, well I can't say I feel too sorry for anyone as they obviously all have money to burn and they are very wealthy. I bet it will probably turn out to be a land swap with money exchanging as further compensation and probably a great deal of money too!
