Problem uploading pictures here

I often get this error message -
The following errors occurred:
name of file.jpg: Upload of file failed.

Any idea what could be causing this?

Thanks!

It is too big. 600 px is as wide as the forum will posts but it will reduce anything about 1000px wide or less down to 600px wide. Over a 1000px wide it may give you an error message.

Good work around. You can also use a free program like Irfanview to resize. I've read that Windows now includes a program that will resizing resizing also.

I agree your pictures are too big best to not try to have very large pictures anyway as I have been on other forums where they don't control the size of pictures and they are just too big and hard to look at. In addition to making a screen shot of your picture you can use a neat free program called Pixresizer from here Bluefive software - freeware system and desktop utilities . They have other free utility programs there that you might like as well. Pixresizer can take some time to get used to but it fast becomes a great friend for e-mail and forum pictures.

I use photobucket.com if my pics are too big for DIY.

Thank you. After much work changing from a PDF to a JPEG I was able to insert the picture. Again, thanks

Good job but it would have been better to crop the horizontal white space because it is primarily width that determines how the board resizes. Also the presence of the gray box indicates you did not use the Insert Image icon.

Here is what it looks like if you crop it, and use the Insert Image icon. I was able to double the size and still stay under 600 wide.

Size: 15.5 KB

The legend I cropped out if needed could be added as text.

Picture was cropped and resized with IRFanView.
