This is disturbing!

It's called Genpets. Supposedly these are living bio engineered animals that will be sold in plastic containers in toy stores.

Genpets.com - Bioengineered Buddies!

According to the FAQ's (found here Genpets.com - support) these bio engineered living animals have feelings, and will die eventually.

And it seems to be aim at children.

I'm at a loss for words concerning this.

Sick, very, very sick. I would have to seriously consider having NO dealings with any retailer that would decide to sell these.

Although I generally dislike governmental regulations I hope the government NEVER allows these things to be sold.

Yes, you've been had! I always check Snopes when I read about something in an email or message board.

Thank you Shadeladie. Had I read this in an E-mail I would most definitely checked snopes but seeing it here first I fell in the trap.

What is more disturbing is the bit in the snopes article that many teens actually want one.
