blind old man

I washed my wife's new car for the first time saturday and noticed a big chip in the hubcap's finish. So we took it to the dealer this morning to show them so they could fix or replace it. I showed it to the guy and he said "huh" then he bent down, got a closer look and said "that's adhesive" They washed it off and we went along our merry way

This reminds me of my youth. It was in the early to mid 1960s. My daddy, his friend, my older brother and I went to the wrestling matches. The referee was a former wrestler named Abe Yourist. During one match my daddy's friend yelled out a remark about Yourist not being able to see from that side. I asked for clarification and learned that Mr. Yourist was blind in one eye. Then I was told that not only was he blind in one eye, he also couldn't see with the other.

I am blind in one eye but apparently I don't see too good out of the other
At least I'm old enough now where a goof up like that doesn't embarrass me none

I remembered that, Mark, it is what made the story so appropriate. I'm deaf in my left ear and people (try to) tell me I can't hear out of the right.

I can't complain too much, I lost the hearing when I was about seven or eight years old so I've adjusted pretty well. I've never broken any bones and other than having my tonsils removed when I was five I didn't go to a hospital again, except to visit someone, until I was forty-seven. It wasn't until I retired (55) that my health really started going downhill fast.

Let's stay politically correct, mark; you're visually and chronologically challenged.
