I saw that on the news yesterday but it took me a minute to figure out who Kirk was
Have no idea who Picard is ?? maybe a sequel? Guess you can tell I'm not a big Star Trek fan

In 1968 the Big E was in drydock in the Bremerton Navy Yard. I got to walk underneath it. It was a pretty awesome sight.

Mark - "Picard" was Jean Luc Picard, captain of the Enterprise in the Star trek series "The Next Generation."

Yes. Picard was the Captain of the Enterprise NCC-1701 D in "Star Trek The next generation" series.

And lets not forget "Star Trek: Enterprise" and Capt Archer. Of course that about equates to the 1799 schooner USS Enterprise.

As a Star Trek fan, although I admit not as much of one as I used to be, I can add to the trivia. On the Star Trek movie the Voyage Home part of the crew went to the ship U.S.S. Enterprise as they wanted some radioactive material that they collected with a special collector. That movie had some funny moments in it especially when they tried to get on a bus.

I liked the part when Scottie tried talking to the computer using the mouse as a mic.

You are right that was a real funny moment and I had forgotten it. I have seen some of the newer Star Trek movies but they were not as good. Some of the Next Generation were not too bad but the later ones were not entirely to my liking. I will have to look up the Voyage Home on Netflix and see it again sometime.
