does trex burn?

Ok, I don't know if it's trex or some other type of man made decking. I've been cleaning up the property down the road from us and burning the last of old wood and some brush. I had previously left the 'box' around the water service thinking it was protecting it but noticed today that the 1' of galvanized pipe and PRV wasn't hooked to anything. So I thru that box on the fire. It was predominantly made of PT pine but 1 wall was man made decking. Everything burned well except the decking which warped. It was raining pretty good when I left and the fire was just smoldering but the warped 'gob' of decking was still there.

Sure it burns, it's got plastic in it!

Depends what kind of trex you are talking about.

There is a blog discussing it at the bottom of this page.

I don't know what type of Trex it is over even if it is Trex or a competitors. I was just surprised that while the rest of the box [2x PT pine] caught fire right away, the side that was composite decking just steamed and warped. I intend to go back down there sometime today and will look to see if it burned or just melted.

It did burn all the way up While I didn't have a rake with me it appears everything in the pile burned up with just ash and some metal/nails being left.
