managed to subscribe to my own thread. If not I end up creating a new redundant thread. I haven't found any settings that have you subscribe to your own threads by default. Is there one? If not, how do you reliably keep track of your threads?

You also have to manually subscribe to each thread you want to follow. Auto subscribe is not working. If you do that you can click on "my subscriptions."

You can select "all posts you replied in" or just "the ones you personally started".
