Forum Change

Did not see a recent thread about this but did the forum display just change for anyone else? Much more readable, with better contrast.

Everyone's avatar is much more prominent.

No more itty bitty letters when using the reply function.

Only hiccup I see is the emoticons to the right of this "new post" box, some of them are jacked up.

Did not look like this yesterday.

Just curious....

Yes, it will take a while to get all the bugs worked out.

I just signed on today and the forum only covers 1/3 of the screen. ? Regardless of which browser I use. Not good.

Because of poor vision I have my browser set at 150%. The posts now take up less of the screen but the type is larger and easier to see.

This is very annoying. Why can't I have full screen?
The forum was fine. Why change it.
If I increase the percentage the type gets larger but the view become narrower. What good is that?

Before the update, with the increased size, I never saw or missed the side of the screen where the advertising and such is.

I always set mine to 175% for this forum so it fills my 32" Vizio screen, still does today. Just noticed it's a bit easier to read what you're typing and I'm sitting across the room on my couch.

Looks good to me.

If anyone has a complaint, please post your platform and try to describe the problem you are experiencing in detail.

Operating system (Windows 98, Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8.1, Windows 10, etc)
Browser, and Browser version. (Chrome, Firefox, etc)

Tools?

Where are the post tools? I don't see the ability to quote, multi-quote or even edit my own post after it's uploaded.

You might try clearing your browser history, cookies and cache. Check to see if you have the most current update of browser... then reload the site.

All that should still be in the bottom right corner of your post.

Guy,

Looking at the image you posted and when I look at the original post the join date etc. are on the right, yours show everything on the left. Odd?

EDIT: edit and quick reply button do show up on the bottom right as usual.

Just got used to the last "update" and someone felt the need to change the site again. Now there is no where to post a new thread, go figure. I don't quite follow the reasoning for the constant changes at all.

I like the changes. I haven't run into some of the issues that others have reported. I'm liking the new layout options - and especially the larger reply text.

Thanks!

For those who want to go back to the old full screen style you need to change your FORUM SKIN. That will bring it back to a near full screen.

Glad to help. Your welcome.

PS...If you increase to 120% you get a true full screen and a very easy to read content.

Some good news, at least for me. I have been without forum notices for over a year (a guess) and nothing on my end or options I could change made a any difference. Ironically, if someone dug up a very old post I would get an email, assuming it was a thread I had posted to, but nothing current. After the latest changes, I'm now getting email notices as expected. Hope it remains.

Feeling lucky,
Bud

I may have spoken too soon. Just saw a thread where I would have expected an email but waited and nothing, so spotty may be a better description. I will pay more attention but clearly getting more.

Strange, but i can understand "all or none" but spotty doesn't make a lot of sense.

Bud
