selling votes

Would it be legal for me to auction off my vote for president on ebay? If not, would it be legal for me to auction off my vote for president as a joke/social/political statement?

selling votes

If I want the candidte/party the vote was purchased for, I would really get worried about buying votes AND the publocity.

Obviously you don't think too much of your responsibility as a citizen.

I'm about as cynical as they come, and I don't vote at all

a new case

Minn. teen charged with offering his vote on eBay
MINNEAPOLIS A college student claimed it was all a joke when he put his vote in this fall's presidential election up for sale on the Web auction site eBay. But prosecutors didn't see the humor.

University of Minnesota student Max P. Sanders, 19, was charged with a felony Thursday in Hennepin County District Court after allegedly asking for a minimum of $10 in exchange for voting for the bidder's preferred candidate.

Bet he only claimed it was a joke AFTER he was caught. I have no sympathy for this guy.

Our system sure has it's flaws, but it's still a whole lot better than most of the rest of the world.

Of course votes are bought and sold everyday, just that it normally occurs in Washington rather than on ebay and nobody ever gets arrested.
