how do I join a class action law suit against santa cruz county?

Here is what you could be eligible for if you were lodged during the times covered by the lawsuit.

Strip search damages

$1,500 for each booking (up to two) for nonviolent misdemeanor crimes, such as drunken driving or theft, or $350 for a booking for a more serious crime where the search may have been unwarranted.

$500 extra for inmates who were younger than 21 or older than 60, were pregnant or had a physical or mental disability at the time of the strip search.

$1,000 extra for inmates who were menstruating at the time of the strip search.

$5,000 to $25,000 extra if the strip search resulted in a medically documented physical or psychological condition.

$750 to $1,250 for inmates were strip searched upon returning to jail from a court appearance where the judge ordered them released from custody.
