Writing a book questions

I am writing an e-book with a publishing company and it's an autobiography with self-help references.

The publisher said that I can use "real names" in my book and depending on whom I'm quoting, I may or may not need to get permission.

I decided just to use first real names and not their last names, too.

And, I'd be quoting from governmental sites, non-profit organizations, medical statistics sites...etc. Not from one person, but facts on the subject from these kind of websites.

Do I need to get their permission to quote off of their site?

Can I use real names in the book without getting sued?

Probably

That might depend on what you say about them

The publisher deals with this kind of issue on a daily basis, I would be comfortable relying on their knowledge
