workmans comp rateing questions

I work in a Tire Factory makes tires... I got a torn roto cuff on my left arm at work.. I did the 6mos rehab and back to work.. Was back at work in 2 mos with light duty reg pay not overtime.. This was fine with me did not like being off

Rateing
Dr gave me a 5% left upper arm
3% for whole body
what does this mean in terms of them settleing with me
I have heard storys of what other workers got for this injury.
How is it figured, I wonder if I need a lawyer heard they rather settle with out a lawyer? Wonder how much we are talking

The insurance company doesn't want you to have a lawyer because it's apt to cost them more money. A lawyer will look out for your interests [not the company's bottom line] but his pay will come out of your settlement. IMO it would be best to at least consult an attorney.

Talk to an attorney - your company's insurance company is talking to several.
