Question frame mirror in stone tile

I have a large bathroom mirror that I would like to frame. I want a natural stone look in the bathroom, so I was thinking of using 2" x12" stone border tile strips with pebble size stones(the kind with the mesh attached to the back).
I'm thinking that I first have to make a wood frame for the mirror, partially covering it & then attach the tiles so they can be grouted. I think I have enough room around the outside of the mirror to mount a frame. If not, I can use liquid nails to attach it to the mirror right?
Will this all be too heavy for the mirror to hold?
Can anyone give ideas or advice on the prosess?
Will the wood warp from the moisture in the bathroom?
Thanks.

tiles on mirror

The mirror is about 3' x3', & is attached by clips, but they are metal, not plastic.
