Question Hanging a mirror on a bowed wall?

I need to hand a 60" mirror over a vanity. The problem is that the wall is bowed at about ~20" from one edge of the mirror. The gap between the mirror and the wall is is ~ 1/4" on one side and on the other side it is 3/8". Does anyone have ideas on how to hang a mirror in this situation?

Can the bow in the wall be chopped out to make the mirror lay a bit closer to the wall? If not, use a J molding on the bottom but be sure to shim it so that it doesn't bow. Apply mirror mastic in globs but not on the high spot. The ends can be finished with polished aluminum angle. 1/2" X 1/2" should work and it can be held in place with clear silicone. This will hide the space on the ends. Slip one leg of the angle behind the mirror and the other leg will cover the gap and the mirror edge.
