Letterman's mom's glass cleaner

Years ago, I had a recipe from David Letterman's mom for cleaning glass. Does anyone have it? Thanks.....

Not sure about Dave's Mom's window cleaner recipe, but there are several popular ones. Ingredients and their amounts tend to vary, as most folks tend to tweak the recipes to their own liking.

Perhaps you can tweak one of the following to your liking:

1 cup rubbing alcohol
1 cup ammonia
1 tablespoon liquid dish soap(I use Dawn)
10 cups warm water

1 cup rubbing (isopropyl) alcohol
1 cup water
1 tablespoon white vinegar

1 quart of warm water with
cup of vinegar and
2 tablespoons lemon juice if you like lemon scent

2 cups water
1/2 cup white or cider vinegar
1/4 cup rubbing alcohol (70 percent concentration)

1/2 cup Ammonia (sudsy or clear)
2 cups Rubbing alcohol
1 cup water
1 teaspoon Dishwashing Liquid

Most tend to agree that vinegar is a great window cleaner. Some use full strength. Others mix 50/50 with water. Many prefer the smell of lemon over vinegar and will mix 1/2 cup lemon juice with 2 cups water.

Some swear that cornstarch prevents streaking:
1 tablespoon of cornstarch can be mixed with a quart of warm water and 1/4 cup of white vinegar.

Tip: To prevent streaking, do not clean windows when sun is shining on them.

1/2 cup of rubbing alcohol to 1 quart of water is effective on windows, mirrors, counters, chrome, stainless steel, and more.

Some swear by wiping windows with newspapers. Others with old diapers. Most currently, microfiber cloths seem to be most popular.
