alternative to plastic container for liquid laundry soap

I currently use large plastic containers of liquid laundry soap for my top loading clothes washer.

I would love stop adding plastic waste to our garbage.

What is a good alternative?

I've seen ads for laundry strips. Anybody use them? Do they work...of course I have to read the one star reviews and there seem to be a few issues. What else is available?

Thanks, that is along the lines of what I, we all, need. Just not sure how they work in a front loader where the dispenser is on top? I assume the liquid detergent is released into the washer. Would that work with a pod? Or I'd just add the pod to the clothes as I put them in the washer?
