Question Installing windows on screened patio

How hard would it be for me to install windows on my screened in patio?
Would I have to hire someone to do it or could a lay person do it? How would I start?

nurseyancey,

Welcome to DoItYourself.com.

Of course it's POSSIBLE, but how difficult it's going to be depends on what you have for screen frames.

If your frames are wood, you can probably get a glass shop to look at it and tell you what you need.

If the frames are aluminum, like the ones I install, yes, it can be done, but you'll need all new frames.

If you can go to one of the free web sites like Yahoo! or Photobucket and post pictures of your room, then post the URL to that site in this thread, one of us can certainly help you out.

Smile Installing windows on screened patio

Lefty,
I am a newbie on the computer , but I am very handy with all my power tools.
My patio already has screened windows, but I need the windows installed because I have to have the patio covered for the winter months. This is why I need the windows.
My patio has nine windows, diffrent measurements, such as:
18x76, 22x76, 37x76 and 26x76. The aluminum windows I bought came with the frames. What do I do now?

Thanks

I'm assuming that the windows you bought came with frames that have nail fins. (New construction rather than 'block frames'.)

How is your screened patio built? Wood framed? Aluminum framed?
