Best siding for shed

I'm building a 10 x 12 shed and plan to use T1-11 siding. Is there a better alternative out there these days? I've heard of smart siding, but can't find much info on it. Also, is 3/8" or 5/8" T1-11 the right thickness. Thanks much.

T1-11 is fine and fairly inexpensive for a shed.
I built my shed in '94 with T1-11.
Stain sprayed it with a Wagner, and it has been fine.

If someone is marketing something named 'smart siding', I'm sure it's more expensive.

It's a shed.

Yes, I would put enough into it so that its appearance goes with the house, but I certainly wouldn't put better siding on it than what's on the house. If the house siding is something like Hardie Plank or stucco, I might go there with the shed siding just for appearance. But if you aren't going to MATCH the house siding, then T1-11 is fine, as long as you keep it painted.
