Screened Porch

Im looking to convert my covered porch into a screened porch. Does anyone have any ideas on how to start? Any websites that provide a walkthrough?

What kind of framing do you have in mind? Or, to ask it another way, how much maintenance do you want to create for yourself?

Wood is doable and is DIY. It's also going to be a lot of upkeep. Aluminum is not DIY, but the upkeep is virtually zero, other than keeping it clean.

Without a doubt, wood is alot of upkeep, I lived 8 years in a cedar siding with cedar shingle house. But I like the look of wood and since the floors and columns are wood I will continue with the use of wood.

Here is a picture of how I want my deck railings to look for our porch

but do you know how the vertical slats are anchored or installed? Could it be, 2 boards running horizontal that slats slip into? Do you know of any plans with this outlined?
