Level surface for Outdoor Shed Installation

I purchased a SmartShed Deluxe outdor garden shed. The installation instruction say to create a level surface before installation but they are not specific at all.
The unit is 11' x 7' and currently there is dirt/sand in the area that I want to install it.
I do not want to lay a concrete surface but I'm not sure how to go about making an appropriate surface.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Do I need to lay rocks, stones for drainage? How much? Etc.?
Thank you in advance.

Levelsurface, Welcome to the DIY Forums.
Since you do not want to install concrete, you will need to make some type of piers that will support the shed evenly. You could use block or PT timbers. You will have to assure that the ground you are setting it on is compacted to resist some of the support from sinking. You could also use the mats that are now being used for Mobile homes. They are made of plastic and cover a larger ground area (believe 2' x 2'). Whatever you use will need to be leveled before yo place the shed on it. When I was in Florida, sheds had to have hurricane tie-downs installed. If so, make sure your supports are not going to be in the way of installing these. Good luck.
