Gambrel Shed Roof

Looking to build a gambrel shed.

Can someone give me the angles and/or cut lengths for each of the rafter boards for a 12' and a 10' wide shed? No overhang. They will sit on the top plate of the wall.

Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks!

Rafter Boards

I made some assumptions based on truss designs found on the net:
The lower segment has a 12/7 pitch.
The upper segment has a 7/12 pitch.
The two segments are the same length.
The rafters will have a 10 foot span.

The segments will be 41 inches long.

The angle where the lower segment sets on the top plate will be 30 degrees.

The angle where the top segment meets the ridge board will be 30 degrees.

The angles where the two segments join will be 16.5 degrees.

Try these dimensions on scrap lumber and lay out on a flat surface to verify. I hope this helps. Good luck with your project.

Roof

One other item you may find useful:

The measurement from the top of the wall to the top of the ridge board is 56 1/4 inches. This may be useful in checking the fit of the segments using the info in the above post.

Good luck with your project.
