I live in the beautiful Pacific Northwest of Washington State. I'm trying to grow roses here but it's too wet so this year I want to put up a simple structure to keep the rain off my roses. What I don't know is, how deep do I need to drive the posts? What is the best material to cover the frame? And anything else you can think of. I'd like to use scrap lumber that I have lying around. Does it need to be set in cement like a fence post? Thank you very much for your input.

I'm wondering why you are having trouble growing roses? I live in Tacoma, WA and have a yard full of roses? Can I give you any ideas? I do have problem with black spot somewhat, but I have a somewhat shady yard. I love roses! don't give up! Deborah
