I would like to take advantage of a southeastern facing part of my home and attach a leanto green house to it to grow vegetables year round. It would be approximately 10'L X 8'W X 7'H. I could build it myself and if I did I'd want the frame to be aluminum and prefer a glass shell but I'd want the facing roof edge to be oblique or rounded so I guess I'm limited to polycarb for rounded. The problem with building myself is I have no idea where to get the materials. I've seen businesses that provide custom kits but which ones are reputable?

Any insight much appreciated.

Order a pre-fab kit and set it up yourself. The multi layer plastic glazing is more energy efficient but are fugly in my opinion and you can't see through them as well especially after a few years. Glass looks better, is more expensive and can have a longer life and is a lot better if you want to see through it.

Shed foundation over a previous child's sandbox

Folks: Helping my neighbor, who is a widow, put in a shed in her backyard. I have city ordnance requirements all taken care of and the shed is going to be a pre-fab shed assembled on-site. However, I agreed to help her prepare the ground for the shed. She currently has sand there for her kids sandbox. Kids have grown up and its not longer in use. Is there any reason for concern if there is 1 inch of sand, then 3 inches of grave? Meaning if the base is sand then the next layer is gravel? I plan on doing at least 3 inches of gravel for the shed to sit on.

Hey all! We recently bought a house that has a screened 3 season room. The screens also have add on plexiglass windows that the previous owner apparently removed in the summer and replaced in the winter. These panels are held in place by thin maybe 1x1 pieces of wood. Basically the setup is - frame...screen...1x1 wood trim to hold it in place... Plexiglass window...1x1 to hold that in place. ITs all pretty straightforward but I don't want to have to keep "unscrewing" the outer 1x1 wood trims in order to add and remove the windows over and over (easy but takes a little bit of extra effort, not to mention over time the holes in the wood will become unusable). Any suggests for how to make the plexiglass portion of this setup quick an easy so there is no more retentive screwing/unscrewing of the wood?? Easy and cheap permanent solution is what I'm after. I was thinking... I can get nylon spacers. Stick them in the main construction. Add nylon spacers into the 1x1 wood... And then use steel dowel pins in between?? That way I can just attach/detach the 1x1 wood edges anytime I want to make change. No tools needed. BUT. Maybe there's a better solution? I can't imagine Im the only one with this conundrum but couldn't even figure out what to search for.
