Wind power

Has anyone looked at getting a wind turbine for generating electricity? There is one on the hill across the valley from us and 80% of the time it is spinning away so I am thinking this is a feasible endeavor for this area. There are some DIY instruction manuals out there(Earth 4 Energy is one I have seen). Is it really something that can be done as a DIY project? Has anyone tried one of these?

Thanks,

Kirsten

don't plan on running an entire house hold on one, one that is heavy duty enough to run an entire house hold would be quite large and difficult to build. however a smaller one that could off set your usage is well within the budget and capabilitys of a good home mechanic.
lots of plans out there.

Could you put up multiple ones for enough power?

shure but it costs money what you have to do is weigh the cost of the generator against the cost of the electricity from the utility. and find out what the payback period will be.

if we're not supposed to eat animals why are they made out of meat?
