Wind Turbine

Anyone see how they measure wind speed, They use little cups on the end of a spinning shaft called Anemometer
Just out of curiosity does anyone think it would Be Simple to build and would work well to use a Anemometer ish design With bigger Rectangle Triangle ish fins instead of cups.
Probably planing on 3 or 4 foot tall fins by 6-8 inch wide stuck together at 90degrees to make a fin. Maybe 6x Fins total on design

Interesting idea...I would love to see power ratings on such a device. I'm guessing they will only be a fraction of their traditional windmill cousins because of the surface area being affected.

There is a reason 95% of windmills have propellers. It also explains why most airplanes, helicopters and boats use propellers.
