unbalanced door?

not sure if i found the right forum to ask this, but: we have an interior door that always slowly swings open if not closed securely. Can I shim behind the hinge to try & level it out somehow, or is there better way to balance this door so it doesn't swing open anymore? Thanks.

Cool

You got it.
Just shim behind a hinge until the door is plumb, and will stay where you leave it.
Good Luck!

thanks...i tried shimming but it didn't work; maybe the door was framed off balance just a hair. (or maybe I just didn't shim it correctly)

Your hinges may be out of plumb. You may have to plug and drill new holes to line the hinges up correctly.
