toy chest hinges

Hi -
I have a toy chest cabinet that I want to add some type of safety hinges so that it won't slam down.
Any ideas? Some type of pneumatic or pressure hinge?

You can find brass stay open-hinges that are curved where a tension screw travels along a routed center cut out-track. The tighter you make the tension screw the harder it is to open/close. I would use one on either side. Possibly some sort of cabinet/childproofing things, with the racheting gear mechanism, whereby it would open, the gears would interlock, and you would have to push the rod in to close it to prevent accidental closings.

rockler has them

You can get safety hinges made for toyboxes from Rockler. I have them and they work well. Should be able to get these at any home center also:
