attaching to rock

I have a large flat rock I want to put in front of the house with my house numbers affixed to it. I have a drill and lots of bits etc, but no clue as to how to drill in rock or what type of screws/fasteners to use. Advise would sure be appreciated. Thank you, Carole

Cool

Use a masonry bit to drill plastic anchor holes in the rock large enough to hold the screws for the house numbers.
Good Luck!

If you find that just a regular drill with a masonary bit does'nt do the trick you will need to get a hammer drill, but try the regular drill first some rocks drill easier than others.
Another alternative is to fasten the numbers with silicone, it works just like glue, but not as good as screws.
Good luck.

better than silicone

use two part 5 minute epoxy. clean the area with a wire brush to remove anything loose or any dirt. Clean the site with rubbing alcohol and a rag. This will insure a good clean stick.
