I want to attach an outside thermometer to vinyl siding, can I use normal screws that came with the themometer?

christensen,
You could as long as they are long enough to secure into your exterior wall sheathing. You don't want it going into just the siding. Use a little silicone caulk to make it watertight.
Hope this helps!

to do it right you really need to make the holes in the siding larger than the screws so the siding can expand and contract if not it will more than likely buckle on you in the summer and stretch in the winter.small thing but it works

Location, location, location
make sure you locat the sensor on the north side of the building in the shade or the temps will be wayyyyyy off
Don't puncture the integrity of the vinyl siding!!! it's only a sensor! use a stick on square with a zip tie. (any hardware store will have it) Beware...when the sensor gets wet you will get the wetbulb temperature. Sprinklers, rain......ect, Keep it out of direct sunlight.
