corbel installation

I recently purchase 2 urethane corbels that I want to use to support a mantel. The corbells have no holes or anything on the back to attach them to the wall. I would like to know what would be the best way to go about attaching these to the wall secure enough to support a mantel.

I think that urethane trim pieces are just that - trim. As such, I don't believe that they are designed to be used as supportive components. The corbels shouldn't be used to support a mantle, only to trim it out. Your mantle should be firmly attached to the wall prior to adding the corbels. Construction adhesive is sometimes used for attaching urethane accents.

question to "thiggy"

Your reply about the urethane corbels sounds right on. Tell me how you think I can attach the mantel to the wall. Should I use some type of brackets on the mantel piece itself and attach those brackets to screws on the wall?
