Hanging a porch swing from a concrete ceiling

Hello all,
I am a city dweller with an outdoor balcony, where I'm looking to hang a porch swing. The ceiling above the balcony is concrete, and I am l looking for recommendations on how to fasten the porch swing chains to the concrete ceiling. What tools and hardware would be required? The porch swing will need to support its own weight plus 300 pounds. I look forward to your advice gurus. thanks, -Alex

you will need a hammer drill to drill in concrete slab
also lead anchors to place inside hole
ask your local harware clerck what size you will need

I call them concrete anchors
But I think we mean the same thing
Offhand, I don't think it's a good DIY project
It's not like putting a swing on a wood porch
I think an engineer or at least a mason contractor should look at it first before you try anything

Thanks for the suggestions - rather then an engineer or a mason contractor, I may just talk with the building's superintendent to see if he has any suggestions or objections to the project, though I haven't yet given him his holiday tip... Hmm. This now becomes a logic project with a dash or ethics thrown in. How to get my way? What if I talk with my super and he advises against, or worse, forbids me from hanging the swing? Then I can't just do it myself and plead ignorance. Decisions, decisions.

You might consider mounting a piece of lumber to the concrete, with a generous number of anchors, and then hanging the swing off that.
