Tapcon Problems

I'm mounting a toilet in my basement on tile that is on concrete.

I've tried mounting the flange using Tapcons, but the 2 I've
tried have stripped on me. The 3/16" hole that was recommended
by the box seemed okay at first, but when I drive the screws with
my drill, they stripped and just kept turning (hole too big).

What am I doing wrong and is there a good way to fix the
ones I already did that stripped on me?

Given the flange thickness + tile, make sure you are using a long enough screw. Try not to allow the drill to " wiggle " , which will over-size the hole. Don't over-torque when driving screw.

As far as using hole as is, maybe use some of the Simpson epoxy anchor cement to insert some studs. Otherwise, redrill the holes for lead shields. Again, don't use the short versions and get the hole deep enough.

Same problem

My slab is 45 yrs old.One anchor twisted off, others never got tight.I also tried blowing out hole.Seems the concrete is harder than the screw thread.
