Convert Door Knobs into Towel Hooks
I have some antique black glass door knobs that I want to use as towel hooks in the bathroom. Can anyone tell me how to mount then on the back of a solid wood door? I have seen it done but have no clue how to do it.
ANY help would be appreciated.

Use a dummy pull backplate / spindle / and finish backplate combination. Spindle sizes vary. Measure it, or take the knob with you.
The dummy pull backplate is affixed to the door. Screw the spindle into the backplate. [Thread locking compound, or soldering in place, after insuring assembly position helps]. Place the finish backplate over the spindle; then screw the knob onto the spindle. Tighten the set screw.
