I was ignorant of the fact that the ACQ P/T lumber I'm using for my bottom plates requires special fasteners to resist corrosion until I read an article about it on the Internet yesterday. I've been using standard 3" Paslode framing nails to attach the studs to the bottom plate. Is this going to be a concern in the future and should I change the nails I'm using? I was also using standard ramset nails, I had noticed the ramgaurd line but didn't pay attention to note it was for P/T wood. I'll start using those for attaching the plate, just not sure about framing. I'm using the standard above ground grade .25 pcf.

Have a double door leading to one of my shop rooms. I have installed a dead bolt and locking door hardware. I can just pull the door open. I recall a type of plunger unit that installs on one door base that goes into the concrete to hold it stable. You can step on it to release the door. I do not know the name and all search on the internet does not produce what I am looking for. Anyone familiar with this type gadget that can put a name on it and lead me to a source?? Thanks so much!
