pilot drill size for #14 x 2 in wood screws?

I am installing an LCD TV wall mount and the kit came with four #14 x 2 in wood screws. The instruction does not mention about drilling pilot holes but I don't think I can tightened the screws with a plillip screw driver all the way.

Does any one know the pilot drill size for these screws? I am also considering going to the hardware store and buying the same size lag screws so I can use a rachet.

Thanks in advance for your help.

I would use a 3/16 inch bit, but your idea of the lag is a great idea, as I can guarantee you in writing that you will strip out the phillips head. Another way is to place the shank, not the screw threads part, up against a drill bit, and use that size, allowing the screw part to do the grabbing.
