Anchors for wood for hurricane shutters
I am trying to find an anchor for wood frames around my windows that will allow me to fasten plywood over the windows but will remain behind in the wood frames so that I can reuse the fastners.
Contractor used drywall anchors which of course fell out.
Any ideas appreciated.

One possibility is a hanger bolt. This has a wood screw on one end and a machine thread on the other. Commonly used for fastening legs to tables, they come in various sizes - both diameter & length.
You'd screw them into the wood frame and use a hex nut with a washer to attch the plywood. Taking the nut/washer off allows removal of the plywood, leaving the bolt in place in the frame.
Look for them in a good hardware store.

Threaded inserts might also be a solution. You drill a slightly larger hole in your frame, then screw in the insert (some drive with a hex wrench, some with a large flat screwdriver). The drive flush with the frame, and leave you with a machine threaded hole that you can bolt/unbolt as many times as you want.

Go to HD where the storm panels are, they have kits for the panels that include the screws, washers, wing nuts and plastic caps to cover the bolts when not in use.
Not cheap, but they are what you are looking for.
